Men’s Hair Transplants

Restore Hairline with the Male Hair Transplant Procedure

Most of us take healthy locks for granted - until they are gone. If you have been noticing the signs of hair thinning for a while, know that you are not alone. Hair thinning or balding is something that most men will experience sooner or later. In fact, some men start losing their hair as early as at 16 years of age!

How Technology Benefits Hair

Luckily, the science of hair transplantation has come a long way in the past decade. Today, you can achieve a naturally-looking full head of hair with the innovative men’s hair transplant from the Miami Hair Clinic.

What is Men’s Hair Transplant in Miami?

Men’s hair transplant in Miami is a type of cosmetic surgery intended to move hair follicles from the donor area on your body into the area that has lost hair. Various types of hair transplant procedures have been used since the 1950s; however, the techniques have changed significantly over the past decade.

Once known as “hair plugs for men”, older hair transplant procedures used to move entire areas of hair into the balding sites. As a result, the patients were left with unnatural results that screamed “transplant.”

Today, however, hair follicles are moved one by one, providing absolutely natural results. At the Miami Hair Clinic, we use the novel FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) hair transplant procedure for men, which can be completed within one day under local anesthesia. The treatment comes with a quick recovery and provides reliable, permanent results.

Why Do Men Lose Hair?

For most men, hair loss or baldness is due to a hereditary condition known as “male pattern baldness” or, more scientifically, “androgenetic alopecia.” In fact, as much as 95% of male hair loss is caused by this condition.

Men suffering from androgenetic alopecia have genetic sensitivity to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a byproduct of testosterone. As a result, sensitive hair follicles shrink over time, getting smaller in size, and shortening the lifespan of each individual hair. Eventually, these follicles stop producing hair at all, leading to hair thinning and baldness.

With male pattern baldness, thinning hair follows one of the two typical patterns:

Hair begins to thin from the front of the hairline, causing the hairline to recede further back on the head.

Hair begins to thin around the temples and on top of the head. Eventually, this pattern will leave a “horseshoe” of hair around the back and the sides of the head.

FUE Hair Transplant Procedure for Men

While male hair loss can leave you feeling distressed and frustrated, not all is lost! With the FUE hair transplant procedure performed at the Miami Hair Clinic, you can easily restore your locks and confidence.

FUE stands for “Follicular Unit Extraction” – the procedure, in which individual hair follicles are removed from the donor site typically located at the back of the patient’s scalp. These individual follicles are then expertly planted into the target areas one by one.

At the Miami Hair Clinic, we choose to work with the FUE technique as opposed to older types of hair transplant methods. Indeed, FUE hair transplants for men are superb in many ways: they are minimally-invasive, leave virtually no scarring, and provide natural-looking, long-lasting results.

Before After

What to Expect?

When you come to our clinic for the procedure, you can expect to undergo the following process:

First, the back and the sides of your head will be shaved and numbed.
You will lay face down, while our hair restoration team will use a special machine to collect individual hair follicles from the donor sites. This part of the procedure is very labour-intensive and can take as long as 4 hours, depending on the volume of the graft.
Finally, the collected follicles will be transplanted one by one onto the balding areas. This step can take several hours as well.

If you are like most men, chances are that you will face the unsightly effects of male pattern hair thinning at some point in your life.
